I am always excited to have the opportunity to share your individual journey.  I am a compassionate and caring therapist willing to go wherever your journey will take us.

I strongly believe that whenever there is an issue, there is a deeper part within every person that knows how to heal itself. I call this the map. You are the holder of this map. In therapy we look at your map together, and with the use of the therapeutic relationship and my skills and knowledge as a therapist, we will find the most fulfilling, healing way.

In my practice I treat a wide range of clinical issues, some of them include depression (including post partum and post adoption depression), stress, anxiety, marital problems, individual psychological problems, and child-parent problems. I work with adults, adolescents, children and families.

I use an eclectic array of therapies. My background is in the "family systems" approach according to Bowen, which means I like to explore issues in the context of family and all relationships. I may also use cognitive behavior therapy, and/ or a psychodynamic approach where I like to look deeper at the fineprint of your map.

In addition to traditional "talk therapy", if it feels right to you and the situation, I might incorporate some work using a sand tray, art, guided imagery, and movement (adults and children). I might use non-directive play therapy with children.

Some times it is too difficult to put feelings into words. Using these other "tools" is a way to involve the less conscious parts into the therapeutic process. When it is called for, I like to send you home with some homework, things to work on between sessions, because change happens all the time.

Special Focus:

Due to my experience in working with victims of crime in an agency in California, I have specialized in working with traumarelated issues.

And since my peer group changed after my children were born, I have come to realize how many  new parents experiene a new set of difficulties right after the birth or adoption and how little professional help is dedicated to helping women suffering from post-partum depression. That is why I have furthered my education and experience and started to specialize in helping women dealing with issues related to becoming a mother. I also specialize in working with children and parentingrelated issues.
